In depth classes - Foundation Programme

The Foundation Programme provides a systematic presentation of particular subjects of Mahayana Buddhism and is a wonderful way to deepen your knowledge and practical experience of Buddhism.

NEW foundation programme starting february 2012

  • Beginning Feb 8th 2012 we will be studying Universal Compassion, a deeply inspiring text showing how to transform all our daily activities into the path to enlightenment. In particular we learn how to face life's adversities with courage, fearlessness and a light, peaceful mind.
  • “To have the opportunity to practice this precious and profound teaching is infinitely more meaningful than being given all the precious jewels in the world. If we understand how extremely worthwhile it is to read, listen to, study, contemplate, and engage in the practice of this very special Dharma, we will do so with great faith and a happy mind.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
  • Classes are on monday and wednesday evenings

  • Be inspired Read a transcript of a talk given by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso on the benefits of this study programme

sunday foundation programme

  • Studying Meaningful to Behold, a commentary to Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life
  • This class has already completed about two thirds of the text but we will be starting a new section on January 29th. This section focuses on the profound practise of equalising and exchanging self and others. This is followed by an extensive explanation of Buddha's wisdom teachings revealing the ultimate nature of reality and the method to cut the root of all suffering.
